Locals have plenty of opportunities to increase their living thanks to Japan’s rising interest in Cambodian fruits and its growing agricultural imports. Since fruits and vegetables have attractive qualities, flavors, aromatics, Cambodia is anticipated to expand its market to Japan. A workshop to increase the exports of dried fruits and agricultural products from Cambodia to Japan was held on March 31 by the Ministry of Commerce and the ASEAN-Japan Centre (AJC). Kunihiko Hirabayashi, AJC secretary general clarified that Cambodia has made significant improvements in agriculture with an emphasis on sustainability, prosperity, health, safety, and quality. According to a statistic, Japan was Cambodia’s sixth-largest commercial partner, the fourth-largest export market, and the eighth-largest source of imports.
