Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Center (CJCC), Cambodia-Japan Association for Business and Investment (CJBI), and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) successfully co-hosted a webinar called "Cambodia Food & Agri Start-up Seminar " with the support from Kiriboshi Bank, Ltd. and Kanto Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry on November 30, 2022. This webinar was initiated with an aim to introduce potential Cambodian-Agri startups to Japanese companies who are interested in establishing business partnership with company in Cambodia and ASEAN.

The webinar featured lectures on "current situation of Cambodian economy and investment", "JICA’s activities in the field of agriculture in Cambodia", and "Presentation by Japanese entrepreneurs doing business in Cambodia" by Mr. Kurata, President of KURATA PEPPER Co. Ltd. who has been contributing to Cambodia's agricultural industry for a long time. After the lectures, five Cambodian startup companies in the field of food processing and agriculture namely Angkor Green Investment, Misota Foods, CSL Enterprise, Aliments, and Agri House were invited to present about their company’s profile.

During the closing remark by a representative of Kiriboshi Bank, Ltd., it is noted that the bank's activities in business matching with overseas companies and support for startup companies in Japan and overseas are similar to the goals of the CJCC/CJBI. He also spoke about the importance of collaboration with overseas companies to achieve a "sustainable, fair, and socially responsible society" and the importance of overseas expansion based on the concept of "value co-creation" by leveraging the strengths of both Japan and overseas companies.

Overall, the webinar was attended by approximately 100 participants and we believe that it was a great opportunity to open a door for Cambodian companies to demonstrate their potentials to Japanese firms.
